Self-Care is Sustainable Vet Practice

Being in the veterinarian field is stressful.
You love animals and have a soft spot for their owners.
You also may be a pet owner.
Your calling is a paradox: you heal animals and you compassionately end animal suffering through euthanasia.
The Impact of Working with an Experienced Spiritual Care Practioner:
Chaplaincy is All About Compassion
Processing your deep questions about life, death, and suffering
Offering unconditional positive regard without judgement
Focusing on your meaning making
Providing attentive listening
Affirming what is important to you
Supporting your deep need for empathy and healing
As an animal chaplain, I provide the support and relief you need.
I have earned five clinical pastoral education units and my masters in theological studies. I have been loved by seven cats, one hamster named Susan, and one toad named Tom. I thoughtfully care deeply about the well-being of others. I am available to help you feel valued, affirmed, and cared for in our collaborative processing.
Through my clinical hospital training, I've walked with over 3,000 patients, families, and staff in their darkest valleys to their deepest joys and everything in between. I've been in those valleys and mountaintops a time or two myself. I needed someone to walk with me as I reframed my sense of self and my calling. One of the many things I've learned during those times of empowerment is that we are made for connection. When your connection to yourself, to your calling, or to an animal needs equipping, reach out to your experienced chaplain, Lindsey Hulstrom.
